I'm Ivano Assenza, a climate consultant and project developer with over 15 years of international experience at the intersection of business, technology, and environmental sustainability. Born in Sicily, raised in the UK, and having spent over a decade in Spain, I bring a global perspective and a deep-rooted passion for reconnecting people and planet through regenerative practices.

After completing a degree in Business Administration in the UK and Climate change focus specific courses at the IMD Business School (Geneva) and United Nations World Programme, I developed my tech career in Spain for over a decade and moved back to Italy as a Consultant in 2021.

This has allowed me to be fluent in Italian, English, Spanish, and Catalan and expand my network across Europe. My career has spanned global roles at Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Infor Global Solutions, Criteo, Expedia Group, and ClimatePartner—gradually narrowing my focus to what matters most: tackling climate change through practical, science-based solutions.

Today, I specialize in the carbon market and nature-based solutions, with a strong emphasis on the agrifood and forestry sector. Through my company and local partner network, we design and develop:

• Ecosystem restoration in forestry projects, in area affected by extreme weather or phytosanitary issues

• Carbon farming projects for corporations that help reduce Scope 3 emissions across agricultural supply chains—unlocking both climate impact and business value.

I collaborate with leading tech partners on MRV technologies and decision support systems (DSS) to monitor, report, and verify climate progress in agriculture. I also support companies in shaping their net-zero strategies, delivering employee training and designing climate contribution plans aligned with the SBTi and the EU Green Claims Directive.
